This is how to wash a synthetic hair wig

Synthetic hair wigs should only be washed with specially designed shampoo!

Shampoo for normal hair is not suitable for artificial hair and vice versa.

Steps for washing a synthetic hair wig:

1. Brush the wig dry. Start at the ends of your hair and work your way up.

2. Turn the wig inside out.

3. Fill the wash tub or sink with lukewarm water (maximum 30-40 degrees). Add 1 spoonful of shampoo to the water so that the water foams slightly.

4. Soak the wig for ten minutes and then rinse it thoroughly under running cool water.

5. Replace the water with new water and add 2 tablespoons of conditioner to it. Mix the conditioner thoroughly with water.

6. Let the wig soak for about ten minutes and do not rinse the conditioner out of the hair

7. Squeeze the water out of the wig with a towel and turn the wig the right way around. Shake it lightly.

8. Set the wig to dry on a wig holder at room temperature. Use your fingers to style the wig as desired.

9. When the wig is completely dry, it can be combed and brushed and an original hairstyle can be created.

10. You can also spray a spray conditioner on the dried wig. Now your wig is ready to use again!

How often should a wig be washed?

If you use the wig daily, it is customary to wash it 1-2 times a month.

If you don't use it every day, it's fine to wash it after every tenth use.

Many people who have undergone chemotherapy experience that they sweat more than usual and that the sweat also smells different. Therefore, chemotherapy patients may need to wash their wigs a little more frequently.

Both shampoo, conditioner and spray conditioner contain artificial hair care substances that keep the wig in good condition for longer.

The anti-static spray makes sure that the wig is not full of electricity and does not fly around too much.

Important to know

Never brush your wig when it is wet or damp!

Avoid strong heat - for example, too hot water, hair dryer, sauna, straighteners and curling irons, opening the fireplace or stove door near the wig.

We also do not recommend sleeping, playing sports and swimming with a wig.

Never pull your wig from the top or front of your head. Pull it only from the reinforced edges and the nape of the neck.
